Please contact the office of the faculty/graduate school you graduated from to apply for a certificate (refer to the contact list at the end).
The following fees apply for each certificate.
*Certificate in Japanese: 400JPY/certificate
*Certificate in English: 700JPY/certificate
*No fees apply for those who are currently enrolled.
(For graduate students applying for certificates from their time at the faculty of our university, fees are as stated above.)
(For undergraduate students who have graduated from a faculty other than the faculty you are currently enrolled in, fees apply for certificates of the faculty you have graduated.)
*Please note that fees are incurred to get certified for any designated formats.
How to Apply
Prepare the following documents 1 – 5.
- ?Download and fill out a “Certificate Request Form”
- Proof of Identification (copy if you request by mail)
*In the case of a driver's license, copies of both sides are required if it has anything written on the back of the card. - Receipts (original) or bank transfer details (original) of fee/s paid.
- A stamped self-addressed envelope if you would like to have a certificate mailed.
(Refer to “Stamped self-addressed envelope” under-mentioned.) - If requesting by proxy, a “Letter of Attorney” (must be hand-written) and a representative’s proof of identity are required.
*Applications by phone, fax, or email are not accepted for the purpose of thorough identification and protection of personal information.
*Please note that if the certificate is not received within one month of issuance, it will be discarded, and the fee will not be refunded.

Verification of Applicant’s Identification
For personal information protection reasons, the University verifies the identity of the applicant when issuing certificates. We may make copies of identification, such as a driver’s license. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.
If you cannot download the Certificate Request Form
Please send us any format you like including the items below.
- Name (In case your name changed after your graduation, please give us your maiden name. For requesting a certificate in English, please include your name in English letters.)
- Date of Birth
- Student ID Number (If you don’t remember, you can omit this.)
- Date of the University Entrance (e.g. 1994.4 Entrance)
- Date of Graduation/Withdrawal/Expulsion (e.g. 1994.3 Graduation)
- Name of Faculty/Department/Graduate School/Course
- Mailing Address & Phone Number (the number can be reached during daytime)
- Purpose of Use & Where to submit
- Type and Number of Certificate You Need?

*If the application is received after April 1, 2025, the revised fee will be applied even if you pay the fee by March 31, 2025.
Issued certificates will be mailed in a tightly sealed envelope which will be invalid if opened. Please prepare an envelope with your name and address on and the stamp listed below.

How to Pay Fees
There are two ways to pay fees.
- Pay with cash at Ryukyu University Co-op (Chuo Store) on the second floor.
Store hours: 8:00am – 6:00pm (Weekends and holidays are closed.)
Also, store hours may vary during university entrance exams and long vacations.
Please check it on the Co-op’s website beforehand.
